" Thanksgiving Eve"

~ A life that is not shared is tragically diminished.
It remains a profound truth; we have truly lived, when we have made another life easier. ~ Perhaps, this is the only real and lasting definition of success.

And I quote:
"There is a light in this world, a healing Spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter. We sometimes lose sight of this force when there is suffering, too much pain. Then suddenly this Spirit will emerge, through the lives of ordinary people, who hear a call, and answer in extraordinary ways".
I thank you, each and every one, who have answered the call....
~ May God bless You and Yours, in an extraordinary way!

~ Happy Thanksgiving!

"The Mystery"

I
 am the Wind
which
 breathes upon the Sea,
I am the Wave of the Ocean,
I am the Murmur of the Billows,
I am the Ox of the Seven Combats,
I am the Vulture upon the Rocks,
I am the Beam of the Sun,
I am the Fairest of Plants,
I am a Wild Boar in Valour,
I am a Salmon in the Water,
I am a Lake in the Plain,
I am a Word of Science,
I am the Point of the Lance of Battle,
I am the God who Created in the Head of the Fire.

Who is it that throws Light into the Meeting on the Mountain?
Who announces the Ages of the Moon?
Who Teaches the Place where couches the Sun?

(If not I)

* Amergin was a Milesian prince or druid who settled in Ireland hundreds of years before Christ
and is from the Leabhar Gubhala or ' Book of Invasions'.  He is considered one of Ireland 's earliest poets,
and 'The Mystery ' is attributed as the first Irish poem.

"Bareback Pantoum"

                         One Night,
bareback and young, we rode through the woods
and the woods were on Fire-
two borrowed Horses, two local boys
whose waist we clung to, my sister and I,

and the woods were on Fire-
the pounding of hooves and the smell of smoke
and the sharp sweat of the boys
whose waist we clung to, my sister and I
as we rode toward Flame with the Sky in our
     mouths

the pounding of hooves and the smell of smoke
and the sharp sweat of the boys
     and the Heart saying: mine
as we rode toward Flame with the Sky in our
     mouths-
the Trees turning gold, then crimson, white

     and the Heart saying: mine
     of the Wild, Bright world;
the Trees turning gold, then crimson, white
as they Burned in the Darkness, and we were the
     girls

     of the Wild, Bright world
through the Woods near our house-we could turn, see
     the
     Lights
and they Burned in the Darkness, and we were the
     girls
so we rode just to ride

through the Woods near our house-we could turn,
     see the Lights-
and the Horses would carry us, carry us home
so we rode just to ride
my sister and I, just to be close to the Danger of
     Love

and the Horses would carry us, carry us home
-two borrowed horses, two local boys,
my sister and I- just to be close to that Danger,
     Desire-
one night, bareback and young, we rode through the
     woods.

"Litany"

You are the bread and the knife,
the crystal goblet and the wine.
You are the dew on the morning grass
and the burning wheel of the sun.
You are the white apron of the baker
and the marsh birds suddenly in flight.

However, you are not the wind in the orchard,
the plums on the counter,
or the house of cards.
And you are certainly not the pine-scented air.
There is no way you are the pine-scented air.

It is possible that you are the fish under the bridge,
maybe even the pigeon on the general's head,
but you are not even close
to being the field of cornflowers at dusk.

And a quick look in the mirror will show
that you are neither the boots in the corner
nor the boat asleep in the boathouse.

It might interest you to know,
speaking of the plentiful imagery of the world,
that I am the sound of rain upon the roof.

I also happen to be the shooting star,
the evening paper blowing down the alley,
and the basket of chestnuts on the kitchen table.

I am also the moon in the trees
and the blind woman's tea cup.
But don't worry, I am not  the bread and the knife.
You are still the bread and the knife.
You will always be the bread and the knife,
not to mention the crystal goblet and -  somehow -  the wine.

"Brother Warrior"

Gentle Warrior
With your Heart like Gold and a Rainbow in
 your eyes
Brave Companion
Do you see a World shining in the Sky?
With your Body dancing like an Arrow
Spreading Joy beneath your feet
And your Hands that wave like tall Grass
In the Wind as you speak.

With the Shyness of a small Child
And the Wisdom of a Saint
I tell you, now
There is no Reason to be afraid.

Brother Warrior
There are None of us who Walk  this Path, alone
Spirit Healer is the only Life that we have ever
known
I see your Smile in the Sunlight
I hear your Song in the Rain
And I Hold you here, inside me
I Feel your Love and know your Pain.

At this Time, when the Earth is Waking
To the Dawn of another Age
I tell you, now
There is no Reason to be afraid.

We  are Crying for a Vision
That all Living things can Share
And those who Care
~ Are with us -
 Everywhere.

"Remember"

~ Always Remember to forget,
The things that made you sad;
But never forget to Remember,
The things that made you glad.

~ Always Remember to forget,
The friends that proved untrue;
But don't forget to Remember;
Those that have stuck by you.

~ Always Remember to forget,
The troubles that passed your way;
But never forget to Remember,
The Blessings that come each day.

"There Was a Time"

Once
upon a time
  there was a
time
of fairie tale reality.
Of cuddly toys and noisy things
that came to life at will.
How uncomplicated
was the game of living then.
The earth's circumference
was the distance around a room.
Warm,
outstretched arms were our resting stops.
How easy then
we were to please.
How small our wants,
how few our needs.
So sheltered we were then,
 with human walls around us,
to ward off evil, pain, and sorrow.
But we outgrew our defenses
and chose to climb,

to leave behind the faerie tale security.
How foolish
we
 became.

"Where Do the Guilty Go"

When
 the Stars
 begin to Tumble,
and there's a Sadness in the Sky
And you lose Faith in a World you use to know
When the Innocent have Departed, and the Hurt begins to grow
Tell me where, oh where, do the guilty go.

Did you
ever see the Sunrise
come to Meet a brand new Day
but the Birds in the Trees didn't show
Have you stood out on a Riverbank, and watched the Waters cease to flow
And wondered where, oh where, do the guilty go.

Did you
ever feel so Sad inside,
 Gutted to the Bone
And all the Faith you had in Justice is gone
Did you ever look into the Sky, as the Moon just lost its glow
And wondered where, oh where, do the guilty go...

Tell me ~ Tell me; Where, oh Where, do the Guilty Go.

"Connection"

Strange
 is our situation
 here upon earth.
Each of us comes for a short visit,
  not knowing why,
yet sometimes seeming to a Divine purpose.
From the standpoint of daily life,
however, there is one thing we do know:
That we are here for the sake of others...
for the countless unknown Souls with whose Fate
we are connected by a bond of sympathy.
Many times a day,
I realise
how much my outer and inner life
Connection is built on the labour of people,
both living and dead,
and how earnestly I must exert myself
in order to Give in return
as much as I
have
Received.

"Grace"

As we gather in the Chapel, in olde Kilmainham jail
I think about the last few weeks, oh will they say, we failed
From our school days, they have told us, we must yearn for Liberty
Yet all I want in this dark place, is to have you here with me.

Oh Grace, just hold me in your arms and let this moment linger
They'll take me out at dawn, and I will die
With all my Love, I place this wedding ring upon your finger
There won't be time to share our love, so we must say goodbye.

Now I know it's hard for you, my love, to ever understand
The Love I bear for these brave men - my Love for this dear land
But when Padraic called me to his side, down in the G.P.O.
I had to leave my own sick bed - to him I had to go.

Now the dawn is breaking, my heart is breaking, too
On this May morn', as I walk out, my thoughts will be of you
And I'll write some words, upon the walls, so everyone will know
I Loved so much that I could see - His blood upon the rose.

Oh Grace, just hold me in your arms. . .

His Eye Is On The Sparrow - Jessie Colter

~ For  my Beloved Friend, Maxwell "Everett".  Today is your final " Going Home". ~ I will miss you, Dear Friend.  I will miss you! ~ Many times, throughout the years, we listened and loved this song, together.  And yes, now, from"care you have been set Free".  Rest now, Gentle Friend...Rest.  ~ We Remember, Maxwell...We Remember! ~ Beannaichte'

"Desiderata"

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.  Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the Spirit.  If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.  Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.  But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and every where life is full of heroism.  Be yourself.  Especially do not feign affection.  Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.  Nurture strength of Spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.  But do not distress yourself with imaginings.  Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.  Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here.  And whether or not it is clear to you, the universe is unfolding as it should.  Therefore, be at Peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.  And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life~keep Peace with your Soul.  With all its sham and drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.  Strive to be happy.
