"May"...

May
the Stars
Carry Your Sadness Away. . .
May Hope Forever
Dry Away Your
Tears. . .
And,
Above All,
May
Silence
Make
You
Strong.

" Return to Love"

~ Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our Light, that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?  Actually ,who are you not to be?  You are a child of God.  Your playing small does not serve the world.  There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you.  We are meant to Shine, as children do.  We were born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.  And as we let our own light Shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated  from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

"Red Dirt Girl"

Me and my best Friend, Lillian
And her Blue Tick Hound dog, Gideon
Sittin' on the front porch, coolin' in the shade
Singin' every Song the radio played
Waitin' for the Alabama Sun to go down
Two Red Dirt Girls, in a Red Dirt Town
Me and Lillian
Just across the Line, and a little Southeast, of Meridian.

She Loved her brother,  I remember back when
He was fixin' up a 49' Indian
He told her, little Sister, gonna ride the Wind
Up around the Moon and back, again
He never got farther than Vietnam
I was standin' there with her, when the telegram come
For Lillian
Now, he's lyin' somewhere, about a Million miles, from Meridian.

She said, there's not much here, for a Red Dirt Girl
Somewhere out there is a great Big World
That's where I'm Bound
And the Stars might Fall in Alabama
But one of these Days, I'm gonna Swing
My Hammer Down
Away from this Red Dirt Town
I'm gonna make a Joyful Sound.

She grew up Tall, and she grew up Thin
Buried that olde Dog, Gideon
By a Crepe Myrtle Bush, at the back of the Yard
Her Daddy turned mean, and her Mama Leaned hard
Got in trouble, with a boy in Town
Figured that she might as well, settle down
So, she dug right in
Across a Red Dirt Line, just a little Southeast, from Meridian.

She tried hard to Love him, but it never did take
It was just another Way for her Heart to Break
So she Learned  to Bend
But one Thing they don't tell you, about the Blues
When you got em
You keep on Fallin', cause there ain't no Bottom
There ain't no End
Least not, for Lillian.

Nobody Knows when she started her Skid
She was only 27, and she had five Kids
Could'a been the whiskey
Could'a been the pills
Could'a been the Dreams, she was tryin' to kill
But there won't be a mention in the News, of the World
About the Life and Death, of a Red Dirt Girl
Named, Lillian
Who never got any further, across the Line, than Meridian.

Now, the Stars still Fall on Alabama
Tonight, she finally Laid
That Hammer Down
Without a Sound
In the Red Dirt Ground.

"Lines"

I   want to be Free  from the Noise of the Grind
SI  Live on  the Outskirts  of  the back of my Mind
With  a Stong  hand a Song man and God on my side
I'm Writing  my  Freedom  one Line  at a Time.

On  the Highway  to Heaven  that Runs  through  my Mind
A yellow Line Stretches  out  into  the Night
Broken  in Places  it's  my Guiding Light
SI'm Writing  my  Freedom  a Line at  a Time.

I'm  Walking  a  fine  Line between Wrong  and  Right
I   can Live with  the  Problems of  this Day and Time
Consider me Lucky, because  I'll  be all Right
In  my Mind  I'm  Having  a beautiful  Life.

I'm  Lost  in the Feelings of  this Heart  of  Mine
ISearch  for the Border of  InfiniteTime
I  find  Peace of  mind  in the Songs and  their Rhymes
I'm Writing  my Freedom  one Line  at a Time.

"Dear Lord I Know"

To let go does not mean to stop caring.
It means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off.
It's the realization I can't control another.
To let go is not to enable,
but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try and change or be another.
It's to make the most of myself.
To let go is not to care for, but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to e in the middle arranging all outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their destinies.
To let go is not to be protective.
It's to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny, but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,
but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my own desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.
To let go is not to criticize and regulate anybody,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less and love more.
Lord, help me to let go.
