" How Deep the Father's Love for Us"

~ How deep the Father's Love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.

How great the Pain of searing Loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many Souls to Glory.

Behold the man upon a Cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His Dying breath has brought me Life
I know that it is Finished.

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His Death and Resurrection.

Why should I gain from His reward?
I can not give an answer
But this I know with all my Heart
His wounds have paid my ransom.

~Yes, this I know with all my Heart...
His wounds have paid my ransom.

  1. ~Today is my friend's birthday. I miss him. Though he was Deaf, crippled, and in need of full-care - he gave so much just by being himself. He touched so many lives in his quiet, sincere way. We solely relied upon each other, and our deep and unending faith in a God that is so much bigger than anything, or anyone, we will ever encounter on this earth. I learned so much about life from him - more than a few paltry words could ever say. I learned from a Heart and Soul level; what is is to truly care about another. I learned Dignity and Grace through suffering - his and mine. I learned happiness from the gentle smiles that we shared, daily. Not a day went by, that I did not ask for Grace, and not a day went by, that it was not given. I learned that without Faith there is no Hope. And more importantly-there is no Love that is real and lasting...
~"Happy Birthday, Dean!" May it always be; "Well with your Soul!'
